Skinny Robin
« on: May 24, 2016, 08:36 »
Having bought a new net for the fruit cage as the blackbirds could get through the 2" mesh on the previous net, I was feeling smug when it was all covered and the edges battened down.

Imagine my dismay when a robin flew through the 19mm mesh as if it wasn't there. Admittedly she is a rather skinny robin, I'm not sure her portly mate will make it through. She collected a few worms from where I was weeding and struggled for a while to find her way back out but managed eventually.

I'm not worried about the robins and the tits getting in as long as the blackbirds and pigeons are excluded.
