i have just harvested 100 onions planted from nov 08,,,,how long does it take to dry them out,,,,all tied up in the shed at the mo
Self-sufficient in rasberries and onions....

i've read that you should leave them in the sun for a day or two (chance would be a fine thing) to dry out and then move them somewhere dry and cool.

Had the foliage died back? started to dry out?

some of them had ,some not,,,but i wanted the spce to put in my courgettes,,must of been about 120 onions...took a lot of room ,and i still have my summer ones yet to harvest,,due about august i think ,,,my shallots are ready as well ,gone overboard this year,,,,,,due to my mum buying me loads of cheap bits in pound land i didnt really, need,bless her

when they dry remember to store them in the light. Potatoes in the dark onions in the light :)
