Cheap wire?
« on: January 16, 2007, 18:27 »
Hi all,

im now ready to start building the run enclosure for my chook house, and want to use 1x1 inch weldmesh. But i aint keen on paying £12 a roll like ive seen in most garden centers. Ok i know its quite a few meters long (7 or 9 i cant remember, by 90cm) but im gonna need a shed load of the stuff.

Anyone know where i can get it cheap?

These prices are about £12 but are the rolls larger than in the DIY store

Have a look in good old wilkos, usually pretty cheap, if you can wait until oct/nov will all be 1/2 price too
I got a few rolls for the garden last year.

I looked in wilkos while i was in there today, none im afraid. But some stores are bigger than others so will ask me mam to look in the big one in doncaster for me.

I looked at meshdirect website, the rolls are a bit bigger but then theres a tenner shipping on top. :(

Try ebay. Sometimes you can get lucky, and someone is selling a load they dont need for a stupidly cheap price!
