Hi-
I am planning to build a plastic cover on blue pipe frames to cover my outdoor tomatoes (want to try and avoid blight and make up for our lousy summers) Has anyone had any experience with this? Was thinking it should have a gap at the bottom to let air circulate and allow me to get the hose in...but also will need to get access every now and then too. Any advice or even photos?

You tube link is brilliant, thanks. I am not planning to have a raised bed, so will probably drive some pipes into the ground for the plastic tubing to slot into - which I suppose might not protect me against wind lifting up the structure...hmmm...will have to make sure the plastic is weighed down well.

It also helps to heap a bit of soil all around the poly edges as well as blocks/rocks around certain points. This way the wind has no way to enter under the poly so it minimizes wind lifting problems.

thanks for the link ivah but that is a lot bigger than I had in mind. Just want to cover a single bed, not create a walk in polytunnel (for now anyway). Cheers
