If you're the handy type, why not make one from an old gas bottle?

You were right, but you have to admit that a homemade woodburner from a gas bottle is a good idea.  One day I'll make one for my underground bunker.

A word of caution - woodburners consume a LOT of oxygen.  They should be used only where there is adequate ventilation.

Carbon monoxide is odourless, colourless and a KILLER.  It is a by-product of combustion when insufficient oxygen is present.

I've often thought about 'living' at my plot - it's more home to me than the house these days!   :D

You may want to check into local bylaws and allotment rules though - are you actually allowed to live there??

You'd need to take hygiene into account - ie what to do with your bodily waste, how to bathe etc.

You could always post a message on freecycle and ask if anyone's getting rid of a solid fuel fire, like a rayburn or parkray.

Can I assume that this greenhouse woodstove would be vented to the outside? Because that's the only safe way. A lot of market gardeners here use woodstoves for their big greenhouses and it's not a problem because they're vented through roofs, tho it is a fiddle to keep them stoked. Otherwise, the stoves pose no oxygen robbing problems. If vented to the inside then I wouldn't go in there.
