I have sown too many Peppers, Aubergine, Melon and Cucumbers for my greenhouse. Although each seed packet reads that they can go outdoors but the yield may be smaller, that's where they'll be going, down the allotment. Has anyone encoutered any problems or have any advice with the outdoor growing?

Seed packets have a reason for being optimistic!

None of the plants on your list are anything like native to this country which is why they usually need to be grown indoors or in a greenhouse, but then again no-one knows what sort of summer you might have this year (if they are "spares" you have hedged your bets and therefore have nothing to lose if you have space to plant them on your allotment.)  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

i have has some success with peppers and cucumbers outside, if you can find them a sheltered place. It does depend on the cucumber variety though

I know aubergines are supposed to be grown indoors in this country, but a few years back, before I knew this, I had 10 plants in large pots on the edge of my veg patch and they were the best ones I've ever grown!!

650' up in the Cotswolds - Aubergines were fine - in bags, with windbreaks all around. 110 fruit from 8 plants. But they were the long, thin ones - Macchiaw.
