Lisa you have posted this once already, I have moved it to the chicken chat pages as it really isn't a problem - so I will merge this one with it  :)

lots of people on here have had chickens raise ducklings. It seems that hens are generally very good at this although they do get a bit puzzled when their little ones want to keep taking a bath

I've always used an incubator nut lots of people use broody hens to good effect. Hope the hatch goes well and just leave the broody to get on with it. They usually know best (although they sometimes get a bit confused as to why their babies keep taking a bath in water!).
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

sorry didnt ralise where this had to go.have just given chickens some food have got one duckling that has come out and the other nearly out so have left them to get on with it. they are beautifull. only thing is i have some chicken eggs under the other bantam and they are sharing the eggs so will this stop her looking after the ducklings?? worried now.

By sharing do you mean that they are both in the same coup or that they are both sat on the same eggs?
sharing eggs doesn't often work as one of the hens can attack the others chicks  :(. The mum who is sat on the ducklings eggs will get off her nest when she is sure that either they have all hatched or that no more will hatched.

both are in the same coop. one of them is on the duck eggs and duckling and the other hen is on the chicken eggs.
