And saved some landfill in the process.

I must admit that since reading Munty's advice columns I have been looking at skips as I have driven past to see if there is anything worth stopping for.

To the tune of "Zippedy-doo-dah"...

Skippety doo-dah
Skippety yay
My, oh my, it's a bin diving day
Plenty of cr-ap coming my way,
Skippety doo-dah
Skippety yay!

Sorry... It's the Y Ty Yn Y Cefn skip diving song, our nipper loves it!  We quite often go for a drive in our skanky old Land Rover to see what we can find - we got a nicely battered ammo box for OH's rat bike the other week.

When every I go up our tip I'm always amazed by the things people are putting in the skips up there - when we went up this weekend to dump our rubbish from digging the garden - who put's nice short wooden posts round a flower bed and then concretes them in so that when they all rot you have to dig out the entire bed to get all the concrete out to replace them!  Anyway moving on - this generated loads of rubbish so went up the tip to dump it - our tip men will try and retrieve the good stuff from the skips and sell it - there's always loads of golf clubs (some of them good quality expensive ones according to the OH who knows a bit about these things), this week there was loads of hand made pottery that looked very similar to the type of thing my mum pays a fortune for, a 6ft pine dresser with really nice, intact glass doors on the top (on it's way to our kitchen now - I've been looking for one of those for ages, cost me a tenner!), videos, books, chairs all sorts.  And that's without the electrical goods that they can't sell!

It's the name of my hovel - Y Ty Yn Y Cefn means "The House at the Back" in Welsh - we've got the back half of a house that was divided into two a few years back.  It's pronounced just like "A tea an' a coffee" except for the coffee bit, which is "kevn".

Hope that makes sense!
