oh and sloe and apple jelly is fab with rabbit or hare , dont hang the hare more than a couple days tho

We do sloe & crab apple jelly (more apples for pasteurised juice/cider/wine).

Ever heard of the Spanish appetizer or after dinner drink called Pacharan?
Whether or not a home made version is great. All we do each september is to fill or top up the previous years large bottle with fruit as far to the top as you can ans then fill the bottle between the fruit with sweet anis or semiseco...then leave until Christmas... we have a square two litre bottle....what is not drunk which is most is even better year by year.
Try the same with blackberries and when you have finished the bottle shake out the drunken berries and use in a trifle or just with yogurt!!!!

This thread brought back memories -

My ex mother in law made some sloe gin once and I politely indulged in a couple of glasses - only to find when i stood to leave my legs had taken on a life of their own - it was so weird my body was well and truly drunk - but my brain remained sober!!!!

Never touched sloe gin since - stick to the vodka or wine now

But if I can get the recipe i will (but dont say i didnt warn you of the consequences)
