Lots of people use them in the US with good results.

My personal isses with them are

1: still air incubators are more difficult to regulate the temperature.  They tend to be warmer near the top, and cooler at the bottom - which means that you have to have your thermometer at egg height

2: A hova bator is made out of polystyrene.  They are damaged easily

3: I'm not sure how you can sterilize them properly between hatches

4: Again with the still air, you have to be VERY careful to be quick opening the incy becasue once they lose heat and humidity it takes a while for it to build up again.

But like I said, a lot of people use polystyrene incubators with success; and for their size they do hold a lot of eggs (I think a standard size one holds 48!)

I have one and paid £80 for it new when I first started hatching.... so the price is good.

Sadly I dont rate it at all.... still air so hot/cold  spots .... and always had a lot of dead  in shell, but that is humidity rather than heat :)

Without sounding rude.... if its that or nothing then give it a go, if you can afford more then its worth it as you will have much better results.

They are not easy to keep clean and dent and stain very easily too.
I love Pekins, Polands and Seramas :) and eggs!!!
