charlotte spuds

I think I may have cooked my charlottes when I left them chitting in an unheated greenhouse.

They looked ok but were a little on the soft side when I planted them and we did have a few warm days before I could get to the plot to take them out of the greenhouse.

They have been in the ground just about a month and out of 5kg not a single one has shown any growth on top, whereas my Kestrel spuds chitted in the same greenhouse just lower down on a rack have started to show in the next bed.

Do you think I can get hold of more Charlottes are try to replant digging up the first batch as a bad job or is it too late now?

My Charlotte spuds were also quite soft after chitting them. I planted them in early March, they didn't appear until mid April (if my memory is correct). So I think you should wait a while longer. How deep did you plant them?

The same depth i normally plant around 8-10 inches deep, i will go over the plot tonight and dig one up to have a look.
