Rather too close for comfort
« on: July 02, 2006, 11:30 »
Having planted up a fraction of my (weedy) new plot it has come to my attention - and it sees to my fellow allotmenteers- that my veggies are just a bit too comfy.
I guess that this is probably a new plotty problem as it's hard to imagine just how much space it's all going too need.

I have relocated my rather pathetic sprouts, can I uplift leeks to a new location as that are choking under my increasingly rampant potatoes.

I have this terrible image of all the other plotties giggling like schoolkids as soon as I have left the site ( newcomers paranoia !! )

Dont worry so much Debbie.  Allotmenteers are lovely people as I have recently found out......if they laugh/smile its usually in rememberance of doing just what you have done.  They are usually the people to ask what you should have done !!

I hadnt seen any veg growing either and planted things either too close or miles apart so I have wasted so much space.

The good thing is next year we can correct the mistakes

We all do something wrong each year Debbie.

Even the old hands on my plot complain that they did something wrong and say (I should have done it this way or that way).

Just learn from it, or them.

You will never stop making mistakes, just try not to make the same mistake more than once or twice.

You will get there, it just takes time.

Remember the old hands have had there plots for many years and are still changing things around. :D
