Not sure I can be bothered with the ones in the lawn or to fix drainage.  Tried the sand in the lawn at my last house, never again, it was blasted hard work, give me digging any day!  So I shall probably dig up the ones in the borders and weed the lawn with a commercial weed killer and hope for the best.  As they are all flowering now I best get on with it soon though!

Thanks for all the ideas.  I am intending at some point to lift the turf where there are particular dips (and there are lots of them) but it is way down the list of priorities, after clearing the new vege patch, building a run for the pup, moving paving slabs to make paths run through gates rather than to the side of them, making a new gravel path, re turfing the edges of the lawn, the list is endless and unlikely to be completed this year! well, unless i get a man in to do it for me of course!   I think I might need to win a garden makeover or the loterry and then I could just start again with the lawn and 'flower' borders (euphemism for bare earth and buttercups   ) .
