Socks - blokes for the use of...
« on: December 02, 2018, 10:21 »
As it's coming up to Christmas, and socks are often a good standby (pun not intended), can anyone recommend men's socks which don't cut off the circulation just above the ankle?

Mrs Growster seems to have solved the problem, but as I haven't, I thought I'd ask around, as Growsterlegs looking like an hour glass is not a pretty sight...

Have a look on the well know auction site for diabetic socks. I bought some a few years back but they did tend to drop down over time. It's not ideal but I prefer to buy socks with elastine or similar in, it doesn't stop the ridge but does greatly reduce it.

Many thanks, Lards!

Looking in my sock drawer is a bit like a diary of all the jobs I've had over the years, from dark suits to wellies, to blazers etc, and they're becoming a bit of a pain!

Go on line and look at The Sock Shop, or try Damart.    Good luck, Mrs Boqiet

I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I got totally hacked off with trying to match socks and being slightly colour blind, getting the matches wrong. Now I just buy Marks and Spencer's 7-packs of black socks and don't even bother to try and match them

Did they come with the appropriate fittings so they stay in place?

I've recently taken to savaging my socks with a pair of scissors. I'm type 2 diabetic, and so have to take special care of feet, including ensuring they receive a good blood supply. Nearly all socks I put on tend to create a groove around my leg, from unnecessary elastic, which I assume doesn't help blood supply at all.  So I cut a line straight down the back of the socks, for about an inch, until I seem to have got past the elastic gripper. May look odd from behind when wearing shorts, but who cares....?
