When my darling DH was alive I cannot remember anything he couldn't do.
Now, I have to pay people which I don't mind if they do it well.
A couple of weeks ago, I dug out a huge fatsia which had died, roots and ll.  It was under matting and pebbles.
I couldn't make good, so I employed a man.
Today, I have moved all the stones off the new matting, which he didn't peg down, and swept it, because he didn't wash the pebbles which were filthy.
So today I have washed all the pebbles, and large cobbles and laid a nice slab for a large olive pot to stand on.
Wash two more bags bought today at 8am.  Mixed old and new and now the area looks fairly good.
So much for the £120 he charges per day.
He was due back tomorrow to do some other things, but I have left him a message and told him not to come.
I shall do the jobs, save the money, and then I know they are done properly.
I keep thinking as I am in my 70's this is too much like hard work, but ........

My physiotherapist says the same thing - but qualifies it by saying, that some things may take twice as long to do, when you are older, and may even need to be done in a different way - but that's all OK 

So keep up the good work young lady
