Title: Runner beans.

 Hi does anybody here know a method to straighten runner beans for shows.
 I  know Simon Smith has a method .

Wrap them in a damp tea towel as straight as you can get them (even pop in a plastic rule) and bung 'em in the fridge overnight.

hang a glass of water under them and keep lowering it down  ;)

As soon as you spot likely contenders growing for the bench, gently squeeze each immature seed until you get a little pop. When all of the beans seed are basically killed, all of the energy goes into growing nice and fast and straight, rather than growing to fill out seeds.
