Post by: Iain@JBA on March 25, 2013, 22:04
If anyone is interested the World Potato Championships are being held again at the Dundee flower show from the 6-8 of September. You need to have 4 named varieties and 6 tubers of each on display.

First prize is £250 followed by £150 for second and then £50, £30,£20 and £10.

You can even post your entry if you can't travel up there so go on give it a try and see if you can be the champion.

I will get more details for you about the event as it happens.

I will do anything to get an entry from you Aunt sally :D

We looked at how we could open the competition up to a broader group of growers and we thought that a postal entry would be ideal. They just need to put their potatoes into a box and pack them nicely, send them to me by the Wednesday of the show and I take them up and stage them for you.

It happens with the other world championships that are held there so I thought lets give it a go.
