Title: Knowing when to water carrots
Post by: Totty on February 23, 2013, 12:36
I am going to try growing a load of sweet candle in barrels of sand this year. These barrels will be placed in a couple of greenhouses by the doors. When do you know they need watering. I have heard that for stump carrots it's best to keep the bed evenly moist throughout the growing season, how is this achieved, ie- how do you know when it needs watering.
Thanks

Totty

If growing inside it will be important to give them a good watering daily, maybe even twice daily in hot weather.

Excellent thank you. Have my bore mix done and tied up in the greenhouse to warm up. So daily watering it is then.
