Poly-tunnel
« on: March 04, 2010, 06:54 »
I can get some frame work and covering, can the frames be made small in width very easy, is it as simple as cutting some frame out of the top section and joining it back together. I dont want to take it if its not going to be of any use to me.
Thanks
Kris

Is it metal framework Kris? I guess how easy it would be to do what you suggest, will depend on the material and how flexible it is....

would it work if you take one whole piece out of the roof span?
If not you could join frame pieces with the joints they use on scaffolding, assuming it's the large size tubing.

4ft is quite alot to take out, it's getting on for a third of it's width.

It all depends on how the loops are built up, if they are built with the top section as one piece then it will be more difficult, if the loops join at the top in the middle then it will be easier as you could just take 2ft of each side.and re-join using a slightly smaller internal tube.

We don't seem much further with a solution. Kris, do you think the odd photo would help us?
