You can sow 6 in a little pot, try to space them out a bit  :) cover with a polybag to keep them nice and warm till they have germinated.
Then remove the bag and leave to grow on for a while till they are big enough to prick out into small pots of their own

I would sow 10 in two 3 inch pots, 5 in each, then pick out the strongest.
Unless otherwise stated it can be assumed ALL posts are by Pa Snip

My Tomatoes germinate in about 4 - 7 days, so make sure you check them twice a day from day 4 onwards and get them into the light as soon as they break the surface :)

An old technique for picking up those fiddly tomato seeds which actually works: matchstick, lick (not the "business" end!), pick up 1 seed, dib in to required depth, lick again..............
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

The corner of a piece of moistened broken glass also works particularly well as a means of picking up seeds, but please don't lick it to wet the end and do take care with all of the sharp edges.

What's wrong with using a wet fingertip? Works for me :)

Until of course you get to aubrieta seeds, in which case I sow a thousand instead of one.
