Just reading a post suggesting carrots can be grown overwinter in a green house.  I have an unheated conservatory (could put an oil heater in if need be) what could I grow and how?  I like the idea of carrots, I grow them successfully in raised beds but have never tried pots.  Can I use the tubs I have tomatoes in and any different technique needed to plant or thin out?

ps only think I have tried in there were winter potatoes and they were a disaster (got white fly then went mouldy!)

I don't see why not.  Make sure that you have sufficient drainage as carrots don't like it too soggy.

You could also try salad leaves.

It's a good question but I wonder about the need for light to go with the heat??

If it's frost free you could try dwarf french beans, just sown mine to grow on in the cold greenhouse
