Hi all.

new to this so just looking for some advice. Have now got round to making the plan for the allotment for the next year.
just wondering if it is alright to start planting over wintering onion sets as i am eager to get something in the ground

Yes, now is a good time.

Just bear in mind that they are not good storers, so don't go too mad with them. Consider them a stop-gap until the spring planted ones are ready.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

You could plant garlic and broad beans as well.  Over winter is a great time to plant soft fruit, which a real bonus to have  :)

Other than that we will all be plotting, planning and drooling over seed catalogues for a while.  You're welcome to join seedaholics anonymous  ;)  Expect the first posts any day as people settle down to decide on what they are growing next year  :D
