About 6 weeks is a good guide.

That will take you to mid March.

If you dally, then the stockists will be sold out.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for that.  Our lottie shop has Desiree and Picasso, but no earlies, so when I head up there I shall invest.  We grew Desiree our first year on the plot and they were really nice.  I've not tried Picasso.  I shall have to go to the garden centre for the earlies.

Glad to have helped.

Slightly off topic but has anyone been at a potato day today?

I hear Whitchurch has been a great success again and that Ryton was jam packed.

I tried to get Alan Romans on the phone to ask what it was like down there but his battery must be flat :)

I was at Whitchurch, yet another successful day IMHO. Very busy, although there didn't seem to be quite as many varieties (only by a few) there this year as in previous years. Not that it detracted from the day. They hadn't run out of any unlike last year.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

No you're not breaking the rules. You're fine recommending a company or product in which you have no personal financial interest.

I've ordered all mine from JBA and I've just ordered one of their potato bag kits as a present.  I thought they were fantastic value.
Looking forward to chitting - I've been saving all my egg boxes  :)

Hi all, just another plug for potato days - went to Whitchurch yesterday and came home with everything on my shopping list and then some. Also took loads of seeds to swap and managed to pick up small packets of lots of things I've been meaning to try. Plus a packet of fertiliser. All for under £10. I am a very happy bunny.

well, have just placed my order with JBA. Compared their prices with other MAJOR suppliers, and they are much much cheaper. And it sounds like their customer service is very good, based on all your comments, so I am very happy to see what gets delivered to Maidenhead! I love this site. :D
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required
