Watering grow pots
« on: May 27, 2012, 21:47 »
Earlier in the year I bought a load of grow pots from Amazon as they had a special offer on and they are perfect for my tomatoes.
My question is this......
Do I water where the soil is in the cetnre of the grow pot or just in the 'moat' around the soil, which will seep into the ground but not into othe soil in the middle of the grow pot.... Or both??
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

water goes into the outside moat, and liquid feed/water mix goes into the pot itself, when required.

(You may need to add some water to the inside for the first few days till the roots get going, specially in this heat  )

What if the inside bit looks really dry? Just water the moat to make the roots dig deep for moisture?
