Hello all

i have a few bags of kiln dry sand will it be possible to use it the same as sharp sand to mix with compost for carrot's + parsnip's or not

Hi adal,i would say yes as iv used it myself and mixed with compost it was good but no expert here.Im sure someone will pop by soon with the correct info.

you wont do any harm using it but the grains of sand/grit are very very small so you wont get the same drainage as washed/sharp sand

yeah its fine to use kiln dry sand but i prefare to use agricultural sand

yep u can use it but drainage will be dodo. its been dried so as soon as it gets wet it will just swell and go sorta mushy, you could mix it with some sharp sand (washed sand)
