yay  :) thanks mumofstig

i saw a very funyn recipie on the internet for gravy volcanoes - you make lots of mash and put a 'pyramid' on your plate, hollow it out and put a lovely 'onion-beefy' gravy in the middle!

You could make like a stroganoff with it, diced small it could go into a risotto, cook some onions with it diced, in some stock then put it in a nice pie, steak and ale???  steak and mushroom?

yummy.

But if I do get left with enough for a decent meal I'd freeze it and have it sliced and reheated well in gravy for another sunday!!

One of my earlist memories is of Sunday lunch, roast beef, Monday dinner cold beef chips and gravy, Tuesday dinner beef rissoles (made with the last bits of beef minced up and mixed with paxo stuffing) my Mum didn't do "exotic" :D

My Granddad's last comment every week on Sunday night as he headed up to bed "Tomorrow's Monday.  Cold meat day and back to work".  Doesn't say much for Grandma's cooking!    :D

Too late for this one but:

I like to chop the beef up small, cook some onions and finely chopped carrots in some oil until softened, chuck in the diced beef, cook for a bit, good slug of red wine.

Add some bisto powder to thicken and cook in a pyrex with mashed potato on top.

Left overs are some times better then originals!  - And if you make the mash half potato, half sweet potato even better!
