Dithane

I thought Dithane was no longer available, yet it is in the ad at the bottom of these posts?

That's interesting.  I'll look into it.

Can't help Salmo, as a) I can't see the ad you're referring to, and b) I can't find a definitive statement about when and whether Dithane 945 was banned (closest I've got is that the use-up date in Eire was 1st Aug 2013, which presumably also applies to other EU countries but that's a guess.)

The ads are "chosen" by Gurgle as far as I know, and relate, sometimes rather loosely, to subjects discussed in the forums.

It's data sheet says it's "FOR USE ONLY AS AN AGRICULTURAL FUNGICIDE", that means professional use only.

So there is no ban on advertising it.

Revocation notice for Dithane (amateur use) was 31/12/11:
https://secure.pesticides.gov.uk/garden/getfullproduct.asp?productid=19590&pageno=1

Dithane 945 is now available only as a professional funcide as Aunt Sally says, and is licensed only for use on durum wheat, potato and wheat.

Here's the licence for one of the three companies which manufacture it:
https://secure.pesticides.gov.uk/pestreg/getfullproduct.asp?productid=22680&pageno=1&origin=prodsearch
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

It's not illegal to sell it as it is still licensed, but those who may use it, and the purposes for which it can be used, are limited.

As all members on this site know, we do not condone or promote the use of illegal pesticides or those used contrary to their licence.

The ad seems to have vanished now. It appeared that the advertiser was breaking down agricultural sized bags into smaller lots of 300 grams. That is equivalent to 60 gardener sized sachets. Why advertise on this site?

I believe that the ads are auto-generated (by Google?) and not personally selected.

That's quite correct, Yorkie.
