I had time to other week to watch my girls spend their day’

Wake up early have a drink scratch about then fill up with layers pellets
Ten minutes pecking greens more scratching about and a preen
 then back in coop to argue about who is laying first & I want that nest box !

Come out make a lot of noise make more noise be angry get hungry again eat .
Calm down and make time to sit on a high perch in the run to preen and sunbath,
 after that a bit more scratching / green pecking and toss the pellets around in disgust.

A long long dust bath more pellets a few drinks more scratching about
 then off under the coop to sit on a cool slab with more preening’
 late afternoon more scratching about’

More pecking at greens a bit of a sit on a high perch to catch a bit more breeze
Then its walking up and down shouting at me before bedtime demanding corn!

Last thing is a game playing at I’m not going in till you do ‘ darkness comes
Then a bit of jumping up jumping down a row more jumping and stretching
Silence!

Eeeeuuuuwwwww! Saw a lorry load of intensive farming hens go past me slowly yesterday! I would say our hens have won the lottery!!!
