Merry Tillar - correction, Templar Tiller
« on: October 29, 2014, 10:56 »
Just acquired one, my question is it has no rear spike but the wheels can be moved up or down through a series off holes. I assume this is how you set the depth, can anyone tell me if I am right? and also from this can anyone say what model, (powered by Briggs & Stratton 2Hp engine).
                                       thanks in Advance :D

I acquired a Mantis tiller which does not have a 'depth adjustment'. It is done by tilting the machine. Is the back spike a stand?

My ground has never been dug since the house was built in the 60s (I know the two previous owners) so I hand-dug to a spit's depth and then used the tiller on the sub-soil and then tilled the topsoil back in place.

To adjust the depth all I had to do was tilt the machine upwards/forwards and the shield above the tines stopped it going too low.

An example of where I did this was on a flower bed I am preparing - pic below:

Cheap as chips, diy preferred
Will swap root cuttings etc

I've seen a couple of totally useless videos on Youtube for a Templar Tiller. It might be possible to contact these people via Youtube to see if they can offer the advice you seek, should you draw a blank here.
