Cleared up the ground of the mini orchard of 6 trees apple/pear/plum I inherited.

Put a load of chippings around them today 4-6ins deep.

Been told to feed them rose food & pot ash around the roots which I am going to do early April.

Wondering if it help if I put manure around the bottom now?

I put manure around the base of my fruit trees (and rhubarb) in February. If you want to add fertiliser/manure you will certainly need to move the mulch before you do.

Thanks Christine, that what I had in mind. Would it be ok to put mulch on top of the manure?
