Yes; Well done us! http://www.nagtrust.org/page5.html  :D

They have done all that the NAGT says (not because the NAGT said they should, but because they really espouse the cause).
• had the school kids (60) visit the plot for a talk and a taste (in early June though, when everhthing was growing strongly)
• they had an allotment open day in July (37 visitors) and
• the allotment association had a stall at the Horticultural Show on Saturday promoting home composting using pallets (of course allotment holders largely have compost heaps already but they can also use pallets).

This was a super stand - a member had rigged up a pallet composter and then he had four bins with compost at various stages - raw stuff to go on, 2 months old, 9 months old and ready. Plus a sieve and a bucket of ready-to-spread. it looked really nice. He also had some examples of produce grown with and without compost - it really mades a difference.

He also had a 'ball cage' rigged up for everyone to see - plastic balls supporting canes covered with fine mesh to protect the vulnerable crops against pigeons, or very fine to keep out the butterflies!
Keep the plot cultivated, that's the best way to ensure its future.

What a hero - got any pics? We should be doing stuff like that. (Although there's 12 people on our waiting list.)
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

We knew someone would ask for some pics!   Forgot to take the camera, but also were so busy did  not really have time to take any! Will sort out something though!

We had 50 'leaflets' and got rid of them all bar 3. We also sold 160 organic apples for HortSoc funds.(The apples are really organic - she cut one in half (wise you see) and found a resident! well, evict the resident, and eat the apple.

What is the waiting list for Noshed? Allotments or pallets?
O
