poor spud
« on: January 30, 2010, 20:37 »
My poor little poodle has been in the wars this year so much already. Just before new year we had to rush her to the vets because Kia and her had words and somehow she ripped her eyelid. Blood everywhere and emergency surgery on a bank holiday.OUCH.

Now about a week ago she started coughing so we took her to the vet and they said kennel cough gave us antibiotics and said should be better in a few days but no it got worse. So vet said becasue of her age they want to ex-ray her  to see what is going on.

I was worried all day as she is 13 and would need anesthetic this would be her second in less than a month, but they managed to do it under sedation and my poor little poodle has severe bronchitus. Poor little girl is on so much medication she rattles and I dread to think what the vet bill is going to be this time. Never mind shes my little princess and is priceless.

I give you spud ( her proper name is perfect peaches but thats a bit posh for us)

shes a proper mummys girl and is really zonked at the moment with all the meds but hopefully she wil be back to normal soon.

funny you should say she has character, the vets call her opinionated as when she has to go in and stay she barks the place down untill they pick her up and cuddle her and then she is a sweetie. She just doesnt like to be on her own.

Pets eh, I wouldnt be without them thats why ill never have any money.

Spuds doing okay, the medication seems to make her more tired than normal and she doesnt want to go far if she does want to go for a walk. Im hoping this is just the tablets and she will be back to normal soon.

She has however managed to pass it on to one of my mothers cats. Mum has seven cats I think ( they just seem to move in to her house a bit like Cara's so have trouble keeping up with them all)  so she is now having the blame for that as well.

There's a bit of a nasty cat virus doing the rounds which may be what your mum's cat has got - high temps, sneezing flu like but not cat flu symptoms with aches and pains. A pain relief jab and then metacam was prescribed for my friend's cat to get her through the aches and pains and she was better within a week.

Good news Spud is feeling a little better as she's had a bit of a rough ride recently bless her xxx
