This is a close up of her head
and this is the one with the baby

I don't have a better close up of her than this.  She has white/cream feathers with black bits on her head a russet chest and browner mottled feathers on the rest of her

So a Heinz then, am I bothered, not at all she is lovely a great mum and so pretty. I will love her just the same

I am going to a rare breeds auction in a few weeks time, If I buy another bird what would you choose for nice eggs and pleasant manner, eating value is not a requirement for me

Thanks for taking the time to help me.

I think I had guessed that :-)

They are lovely birds.  Do you have any Buff Orpingtons I understand they are softies and loveable.  I love the look of them and they seem to be everything  the farmyard image portrays.

I am an animal lover in case you hadn't guessed, not enough to be a veggie but if its had a good life I will eat it hence I go to my local farm shop for meat which can give me origins and history to what I buy...  at a price of course :-))

Hate to have to agree with Munt but he's quite right!!  Buff banties are gorgeous and really friendly.....but my favourites for being gentle are Brahmas. I'll see if I can put some pics in the gallery :)

yes I know scraggy looking but a cutie pie and loves having her chin tickled!  She is slow growing though unlike my ducklings that have really shot up to 4 times their size in 3 weeks.  Loving their paddling pool, looks like they are smiling :-)
