got me some more today from splitting herring for smoking so i am having them now ,cooked in a basic batter .milk flour eggs salt n pepper  baking powder, deep fried  half  of them other  half i then added a tablespoon of paprika to the batter , and they is bloooomin luverly both ways  :wink:  so that another way i can have them other than pan fried , any other suggestions on a plate  ,please leave a note with the knife and fork  :lol:

oo muntjac if they're fresh there's no better way than pan fried imo -

toss in seasoned flour
sizzle butter in a hot pan, throw in melts and fry for a couple of minutes
serve with black pepper and lemon wedges
