Winter squash - advice please

I am growing two types of winter squash for the first time, they are doing amazingly well. One is fairly compact but the other is growing very fast. I have the space, but was wondering if I should stop some of the trailing vines so that the existing fruit can develop better, or just leave it to do its thing? The variety is Hokkaido which the blurb says performs well in the uk.

Yes, so do I. I only really "stop" the very large fruited varieties tbh, when they have a couple of fruits set, as the smaller varieties just do get on with it themselves and smaller fruits setting later in the season still ripen up well

I just let mine go, supporting it with pallets etc as it goes to keep the fruits off the soil.
