I have tried to find this particular weed on google etc to no avail.

Its roots are thin and stringy and clump together. the leaves are green  :?  quite narrow and have thin whitish/green lines running the length of the leaf from the base to the end. It is quite flat and they grow out from the centre like a star. i havent seen one more than say 6 inches in diameter.

any ideas folks? these things are all over my plot, but thankfully are easy to sift out while digging.
