I have a 3year old chicken who hasnt laid an egg for over a year she has become very lethargic and disinterested in everything including food although she is eating a little and drinking water her comb seems to be going redder I dont  think its my imagination and this morning she was reluctant to leave the hen house and was unsteady on her feet when jumping off the perch she sort of squats sometimes and does go into the laying box if another chicken is in there, its as if she doesnt know what to do with herself she doesnt have a droopy tail and no other symptoms her crop feels normal and her eyes are bright and no snuffly nose, could she be just going into lay any help would be very much appreciated

she could be about to lay an egg or perhaps a softee - shell-less egg which does upset their system and makes them lethargic and often appear hunched up.
