hi just received some grow lights can any one help me determine how many hours per day they are to be on ?or do they just need to be on after day light is fading to prolong day

The general rule n thumb is as long as the plant in its natural enviroment recieves light. So I grow my chillies under them at the start of the year, most countries they are native to will average 12 hours of daylight so mine get 12 hours per day.
Of course this very much dependant on the power of the lights, I use a 300watt unit on my grow tent
