I went to my local garden centre recently and my eye was drawn to the 25% off hand tools sign. I duly spent my cash on a potato harvesting scoop from burgon and ball. Idea being that I would damage less potatoes than I did last year when I managed to gouge several with my hand tools and ended up eating mash for 2 weeks straight 
Has anyone bought one of these/ used them? Have I just wasted my money?

I'll let you make up your mind. I just start well out from the side of the plant with my fork. I spear the odd one but that's part of the fun. This is the item in question. Think it would take all day to dig my spuds up with it.

I bought one a few years ago and used it just once. Too small and handle too short to be useful. So, in my case a complete waste of money
