We have one gerkin lol not enough to pickle, can I be really stupid and say they just look like small outdoor cucumbers.  never tried them before, got the seeds free not really sure why I am growing them as I dont like them

The way I make the pickled gherkins is to drain the vinegar every day and reboil it and recover them. I have to do that for 3 days, so you couldn't really add more.

The gherkins I did last year by just covering with vinegar went rather soft.

I just pop the gherkins in the fridge until I have enough to pickle them. OH is coming home with lots more every couple of days.

You can't do it with he bread and butter pickle recipes I use as you have to  cook the veg in the vinegar mix for a few minutes before potting.
