Comred onion sets
« on: January 15, 2012, 11:59 »
Morning all. Anyone ever grown comred onions from sets? I bought some the other day from my local nursery. Never tried red ones before, something different for 2012

Grew Red Baron last year. The crop was disappointing....

Yes, I found the same with Red Baron. In fact for the last four years I've grown them alongside usual Sturon, Stuttgarter etc and they've always disappointed in size

and Sunny makes three -- red baron much much smaller and didn't keep so well

Haven't grown the one you mentioned -comred - but let's hope you get a better crop than we did with RB  :D

Old topic, but relevant..

Mine have just arrived on preorder (from a few months ago). Looking for info on planting etc. at the mo so might be putting them in today.
