Hi,

I am a newish allotment holder. I'd like to grow lots of tomatoes, peppers and chillies and other such stuff that likes a kinder climate.  Can anyone tell me the relative merits / downsides to a Greenhouse and Poly Tunnel respectively - cost, construction, best environment etc....Space is not really an issue, cost might be.  Thanks

I'm going for the polytunnel on the plot next year. Something along these lines.

Greenhouses can be had for very little money or even free if you wait long enough from Freecycle etc.

The cover for a poly is quite expensive depending on size and if vandalised its a right pain in the butt. If a greenhouse is vandalised, maybe one or two panes possibly go through and thats that.
