Question ref the munty bean frame
« on: November 21, 2008, 21:57 »
Just looking at the lottie and I want to put in a heavy duty structure like the bean frame for runners, but i would like to know  :?

what else could it be used for when not being used for runners.

and would it work if I did a sort of double sided one with beans growing up each side, so you end up with a sort of tunnel effect which if large enough could be walked through to pick crop.

Thanks for your help peeps

I haven't built a munty frame yet, but I did make an archway with black piping arched over canes on either side of a path.  I had  runner beans frowing up one side and Alderman peas the other side, butthe peas didn't grow as tall as the beans, so it looked a bit lopsided.  Beans both sides would have been better!

Think this would be best off in GYO.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Harris fencing would be ideal for this type of thing. (the sort they put around building sites). I've been trying to get hold of some for a while, now but with no luck. Hopefully get some before the runners go in next year. You could make an "A" frame out of two sections, and grow one crop up each side. You might have to crouch down to get under the frame though. Then when the season is finished they can be moved for storage.
Life is a heap of manure. Growing one minute, stinking the next.
