Hi,
Am having a go at growing some spuds in pots for crimbo. Have been moved into a greenhouse now but i notice two plants have got a slight browning in the middle of the stems. Both plants are flowering already. Could this be blight? if so can i just cut the affected bits off? They are Charlotte and they were planted early august.

A slight browning on the stem may be some tissue damage (perhaps wind damage?)  If it is only the one stem and you have concerns, you could cut the affected one (perhaps down to the soil level) but it doesn't sound like blight as first indications are usually on the leaves but by all means keep an eye out on the general health of the plants to check if there is any progression of problems.

I put them into the greenhouse after the severe winds we had and a couple of the leaves had snapped off, so hopefully it is as you say and just wind damage. Thankyou
