Jeyes fluid is not nice stuff. The worry is not the effect it has on worms and soil life but the effect it might have on you if you use it. Jeyes fluid contains phenols which are linked to cancers. It was banned for good reason.

The nematodes worked well for me this year.... because of the wet bit we had in spring I think the dosing I put down not only got a lot of them but they were active so shed a lot of eggs etc through my soil.  Only really saw any evidence of slugs right at the end of the season when the big monsters on the surface started coming through from the overgrown plot next door.... I took to putting pellets on the grass path that runs up that boundary and got most of them well short of my veg... Snails nibbled my red cabbage, but not enough to hurt them significantly and I hand-caught most of them...

I find that snails do as much damage in my garden as the slugs do and nematodes don't bother them
