Rogue seedling
« on: April 21, 2012, 12:40 »
Turn me sideways and call me stupid, but this doesn't look like a snapdragon to me... might let it grow and see what it turns into - rape springs to mind for some reason.

That sounds like a sensible supposition, it looks like a brassica of some sort, but this

is apparently a young oilseed rape plant. ::)

Hmm, not rape then... the second pic shows a small yellowish flower head - I shall have to wait and see.

Well, this is the usurper one week on.

If anyone can guess correctly what it is, I will send a large box of Thornton's choccies to the first person to post the correct answer. Of course, the plant will have to be verified by someone a lot more knowledgeable than me!

I will continue to let it grow and pot on etc. I will also post pics at regular intervals.

Hope I'm not flouting any forum rules by doing this... mods, feel free to slap my wrist if I am.  :D

I think it's fat hen?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I'm sorry, I thought you wanted genuine and helpful suggestions.

Fat hen is the common name for a common weed.

I might not be correct, but there's no need for ridicule.

Ah, Yorkie, I'm sorry... I had no idea what Fat Hen was, so thought I would try and make a joke of it... BIG FAIL  :nowink: Really didn't mean any offence and certainly no ridicule on my part  :D

No really, no prize necessary. :) If it is fat hen, that's edible anyway, just google. ;)
