Absolutely beautiful weather here so enjoyed the 4 hours down the lottie. Put in hooping made from pipes ready for netting to go over, sowed carrots, parsnips and the first sowing of beet root, peas and chard.

Sowed some radish in a tray for the g/house, potted some strawberries, started work on the bean trenches and moved some compostable materials from home to the plot.
Hoping the weather stays nice tomorrow so o/h can start on the new raised beds.

Glorious day here - I've not touched part of my plot over the last few years so I cleared that up and planted 4 rows of Charlottes and 2 rows of King Edwards, added 12 Sonata strawberries to my strawberry patch (50 or so plants on the allotment and 20 in the garden - I over-ordered somehow!), sowed some carrots and yellow beetroot, covered with enviromesh, did some weeding too.

Loving the sunshine! Managed to get all potatoes in (nadine, Picasso, pink fir apple), weeded around onions and garlic, had a coffee, dug over bed ready for beans and peas, had another coffee and a sit down. Moved the black plastic I had used to cover a bed and found all the weeds had baked nicely. Far easier than digging and weeding have to say

nothing on the plot, but 4 trips to the tip, now I can get out of the back garden (the builders next door had blocked the alleyway for a week or so - to be fair they did ask if we needed it at the weekends) then spent a few hours tidying -resulting in 3 big tubs of more stuff for the tip.

Sowed a short row of spring onions. Put up the trellis and pea netting, then planted the sweet peas. Planted more broad beans and weeded the asparagus bed again - no sign of any spears yet.

Have had a great day on the allotment.  First time this year I'm afraid :(.  But didn't need much doing to it.  Have got the first earlies in, have used the new honda mantis for the first time, and by gum, it's better than the heavy duty rotavator we used and has done a marvellous job - takes the back breaking out of digging.  Also, the bloke next door has swapped plots, and said we could have the heavy duty weed suppresent, so first we had to clear off the bark, which we put on our plot, and then got the membrane out, so good job done today :)

Only spent an hour on the lottie today Planted 3 rhubarb crowns given to me at work,
Challenge as began at home I've  sown 8 Okra seeds which I will keep indoors until they have germinated and big enough to go in the greenhouse, by that time the weather should be even warmer. ;)
