Scaffold bars?
« on: January 24, 2011, 10:10 »
I'm busy trying to errect a polytunnel using the thick alkathene waterboard tubing but need a few 6' lengths of scaffy poles to bang in the ground to attach tubes to.  Anyone know roughly how much they cost and even better, is there anyone on the furum that lives in the northeast/northumberland area that could help me out getting some or have spare lengths themselves?

                   Cheers.

Scaffolding firms cannot use bars that are bent "elf 'n' safely"  why not yellow page scaffolders and ask if they have any bend bars going cheap?   Cheers,   Tony.

What's the debris netting for, venting around the sides?  I was planning on just having netting in the doors at each end for fresh air but cheers for the advice. Think I'll ring a few builders merchants. Rang a few scrap yards but none of those had any.

Managed to get some today from a builder. Got 16 at 7foot for £50.  By far the cheapest quoted but still a rip off in my opinion.

                        Cheers.

i got all my scaffold planks for free, i just went to see the local scaffold company and asked what they did with their scrap boards.

actually they weren't free, 10 14' boards and 10 7' boards cost me a bottle of red wine!
