Hi,
I hatched 3 Aylesbury ducks after going a bit wild at a poultry-fayre. They are really wonderful to have roaming around the garden, but they do crave for water. Initially I bought and installed a prefabricated 500 litre pond which was clogged with mud and muck within a day, so eventually I had no option to build a concrete 15000 litre pond with a pump and filter. Even now it does not stay clear, but it does dilute and dissolve better with the algae. My pond is not so huge in size, it's 3 x 4 meters with a ramp area for easy access. If you can build it, really go for it as you'll be forever cleaning a small pond. Incidently, my ducks used to make a massive noise in the morning ( to the annoyance of my. Neighbours) but since they have had the new pond, they have stopped doing this, so perhaps they were sending me a vocal message every morning asking for new, bigger pond!
