Just got myself a pressent today, my very own rotavator. :D  :D  :D  :D

I tryed it and it ate the hardest dryest ground i had, i wouldnt have stopped playing with it but it ran out of petrol.

I will get some more petrol tomorrow. :D

Oh yeh, it's a norlett something or other 3hp, it has 4 blades and the outside two are detatchable for a narrower run and it's got a briggs and stratton engine, so should be good for spares.

Wahoo. :D    :D    :D    :D    :D     :D    :D

It was £157.99,

From E-bay.

And the day after an identical one whent for £99, (gutted)

But i have got one now, and it costs £60 to rent one for 2 days, so after 2 more days use it will have paid for it's self.

Go on e-bay and type in rotavators and have a look, then type in cultivators, then type in tillers.

Good look, lentil.

Don't forget to sing the rotovator song when you use it..
"Get your roto running,
Head out on the Lotty
Looking for some growing
And whatever comes our way"

Once i'v rotavated the full plot a couple of times i'm going to strip my toy and give it a good scrub with a wire brush, then give it a coat of hammerite. :)

I'm also going to strip the engine and fit new wearing parts, rings, timing chain, shells, drive chain and belt (etc).

Should be like new and last for ever when i'v finished.

I would like to paint it in it's original colours, i think one of them is gold but i don't know what colour the engine and pullcord cowell should be. :?

Anyone got any ideas. (gwiz)

got to agree with twysted1, these things get so little use compared to a mower, they just go on and on, smoking belching and rattling fopr years and years.
all the norletts i sold were white, the engines, all briggs and strattons, were black....hold on they might have been dark brown.
i prefer to leave em be. if they look too good, rest assured somebody will want to part you from it without paying.......and it wont matter how well locked up it is, or how close to your house, if it looks good some sod will nick it.

Know what you mean about the theft isue.

I think il just clean the rust off and give it a coat of black hammerite and oil where it needs it, rather than doing a full refurb.

They do cough and rattle though don't they.
